MADD is pushing a bill that would require anyone caught driving drunk to install the breath-alcohol monitoring device in their car. Criswell says, "If there's alcohol in their system above a preset limit, the car will not start."
19-year-old city man declared a hero
Don't call Troy Keegan a hero, even if the award he recently received bears that title. The 19-year-old city man was presented the MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Driving) Quinte Hero Award after his efforts to stop an impaired driver in the city's east end in July 2008. The annual award is handed out to individuals who go above and beyond in the battle against impaired drivers.
Drunk driving film hits nerve with students
A new film called DOA (Dead on Arrival) had many students and staff wiping tears from their eyes at Thousand Islands Secondary School Friday.
The 45-minute film, produced by MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Driving), was shown to all grade levels.
Officer honored for more than 100 DUI arrests

Deaths like Talamantes’ have Mothers Against Drunk Driving and other agencies pushing lawmakers to help them crack down on offenders by allowing sobriety checkpoints and enforcing stricter rules on first-time offenders.
Remember the victims
The killing on our roads continues. The losses are immeasurable, but they are very great.
Perhaps if we remembered the victims of drunk driving better, who they were, what we lost, it might help make a difference.
